HISTORY
2008 he ran in the World Junior Champs final in Bydgoszcz. In 2009 he won the African Junior Champs 110m and 400m hurdles. 2010 He won his first National Title. In 2010 at the African Champs he took a Silver Medal with a time of 48.79, completing a South African 1–2 alongside the event winner L.J. van Zyl. 2011 Fredericks came 2nd to Van Zyl at the SA Champs with a pb of 48.14. Fredericks entered the 2011 World Championships in Athletics as the fifth fastest 400 m hurdler of the year and he matched this ranking with a fifth place finish in the 400 m hurdles world final. In 2012 he was South Africa’s leading 400m hurdles athlete with a time of 48.91 as well as in 2013 with a 48.78. He represented SA at the 2012 Olympic games. He has also walked away with a couple of Diamond League medals including this year’s bronze in New York, he also got a bronze in Doha 2013. At the 2013 World Champs he ran a 49.66 in the heats and 48.85 in the semi finals finishing 4th.
